I know this post says "ten" novels, but the more I read, the more I find novels I want to add, so if you see more than ten, it's because I've landed on a book that needs to be on this list. I mean, Mr. Darcy, am I right? (read more) VIEW THIS LIST ON AMAZON
If you'd like to skip the post and view the books on an Amazon list I made, here you go.
The first time I read Pride and Prejudice, I was in my mid to late 30's. I picked it up because it just seemed like the sort of book a bibliophile ought to enjoy.
Cover your ears Jane Austen, (I did not enjoy it). Rather, I did not enjoy it in that (the original) format. Of course I got the gist and understood the story, but it was in an oddly disconnected way. I didn't "get to know" any of the characters. This is definitely my fault, and not Ms. Austen's, Shortly after reading the original I saw the BBC series with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. That was it, I was a goner. To this day, if I am sick or if I have even one day to myself, I rewatch that series. And I love every.minute.of.it.
It felt like a natural progression to move on to other movies in the same genre, all of the other Pride and Prejudice remakes, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Little Dorrit, and so many more.
That's really got to be a post for another day! Anyhow, once I'd watched the BBC version a few times, I decided to try and find some books that might give me the same sort of feels. Enter, Jane Austen Fan Fiction. It's Pride and Prejudice, only more up to date, a little easier to read, and with modern-ish twists that make the characters more relatable to a 2019 gal. I'm not saying they're steamy, profane, or anything of the sort. Most really keep the feel of the setting and time frame, but they make it a little easier to digest. I hope that makes sense. If you're a fan of Pride and Prejudice and are looking for some fan fiction to keep you in a Darcy fix, look no further than this list of 10 Pride and Prejudice fan fiction novels that are guaranteed to keep you warm this winter. A couple of years ago I went on a trip and won a prize. It wasn't a set prize, though. Rather, the giver asked me what my favorite book was, and I said, "Pride and Prejudice". Imagine my surprise when, a few weeks later, I received this in the mail.
It is my favorite coffee mug! Each time I use it, I'm reminded of all my most loved Darcy and Elizabeth moments. You can get yours on Amazon, if you like. I'll put the link below. There's nothing like the best Jane Austen quotes with a warm cup of coffee. Here's my picture:
In case my picture doesn't do it justice, here's Amazon's picture:
I hope you love these books! If you get a chance to read one (or all), let me know what you thought. I'm always up for talking about Mr. Darcy.
If you'd like to enjoy some snacks from the UK, check out my review of Universal Yums. I can't guarantee it'll be the UK, but they do send snacks each month from another country, and we have definitely gotten the UK in the past. Enjoy your Darcy fix! Ty

Thank you so much for the recommendations but I'm afraid I need your help with something. I once read of a P&P variation novel in which Elizabeth accepts Darcy's proposal the first time.

Hey Zenbiyay, could it be Duty Demands? I'm sure there are more than a few out there like this, but hopefully this is the one - https://amzn.to/2vUGuPu
