I know I've said this a bunch, so let me apologize in advance for repeating it.
My inspiration for the series started with my kids (and my nephew). The whole reason I began writing was to keep them engaged with reading. At first, the stories were just for them, but after taking all that time to write a whole book, I decided to put them on Amazon.
It's certainly become more than I thought it would be!
One thing I've had to try and balance is keeping the book at a level my oldest son will enjoy. Meaning, as he grows, the characters in the book grow. Since it's been almost a year since the first "The World Keepers" book came out, you can imagine he's done a lot of growing. It's shocking (and amazing) to me how much children change in a year. I swear they become entirely different people!
That means the books started out rather light, and have moved in a decidedly "tween" direction. I hope this means they're growing WITH your kids, and I hope it means that if your kids are new to the series, it'll give them a chance to dip their toes in the water and get to know the "Jumpers" at a point where everything was light-hearted and fun. :)
Book 12 should be out in the next few weeks. I'm about a quarter of the way through it now, and (while I did have an outline written before I started writing), I managed to surprise myself yesterday when things took a turn I wasn't anticipating. It just felt right in the story, and after running it by my oldest, he agreed that it was a good twist.
We'll see how that pans out in later books, but I'm thinking these kids are going to see a lot of action in the next year!
Tyrants - this is for you! Be sure to get your reviews/suggestions in within the next couple of weeks, and this goes for ANY of the books, it doesn't just have to be Book 11. So if you're brand new to the series, review book 1, if you're a veteran, review book 9, wherever you are, start there! I'll go through the books a day or two before I publish so I make sure to get all the names on the Tyrant list.
Happy Reading! Enjoy the adventure!
P.S. Here's what Book 12 will look like! The picture on the spine is starting to come together!
