This is the longest space between books yet! I have excuses, I mean....reasons!
Mainly, I wanted to release the book to coincide with my oldest child heading off to camp. We're allowed to send camp mail, so I thought book 10 would be a great way for him to pass some time in the evenings while he drifts off to sleep. I don't know about you, but when I went to camp (all of once in my life) the hardest part of the day was bedtime. I missed my mom, I missed my bed, and I worried myself sick about how much she was missing me. (Because I hadn't yet figured out that she was probably REALLY enjoying the peace and quiet). Daytime was fine, I was so busy with new friends and activities that I didn't give my mom a second thought (sorry mom!), so I figure my kiddo will be the same, especially since two of his best friends are going to be there with him. If I can take his mind off of being homesick at night, I'll consider it a win, and I think the book will help. The other reason is that I've officially entered old age! No really, I started quilting, so yeah, I guess really, old age. I went to a quilt show about 2 months ago (just to support my bestie, really) and was so impressed by the quilts that I decided I'd ask if she could show me how to make one. She was happy to do so, and now I have a finished quilt top under my belt, and one I'll be finishing today (hopefully). Two quilt tops in a month, crazy town! I'm also the proud owner of a sewing machine, which I never thought I would be. I've finished book 10, I've edited it, and today I'm making chapter headings. I hope to have all the pictures in by Monday, and I'll put it up for sale. It should be ready for purchase by sometime Tuesday, fingers crossed, mark your calendars! In the mean time, here are some pictures of my new quilt habit. There's my quilt table, which starts out small and opens up huge, as you can see. So if you've been thinking of quilting, take it from me, you don't need a ton of room. Then we have my almost finished quilt top (with the bright colors), and my first finished quilt top, the blue one (which is a present for my mom, so SHHH). Have a fabulous weekend! Ty
