A Chapter A Day...

It may not keep the doctor away, but it does make me stay on track. Every day, I have to find time to sit down and bring the kids to life on paper. Some days it's easy, some days it totally sucks! As my husband said yesterday when I went off in the direction of my office, "Good luck, I know you can't just make it happen on demand."

No, indeed!

So far, so good though! I'm 4 chapters in, at some point today I WILL write chapter 5. There are going to be 15-20 chapters in this book, so hopefully not more than another two weeks to completion.

After that I have to edit, add pictures, and get the wonderful woman who makes the book covers to make one for Book 9. I'm thinking black and white, or shades of grey, if she can pull it off. We'll see!

Book 10 was the book that I just KNEW the end of. I knew how it started, I knew how it finished, I had it complete!

And now I'm rethinking it.

My oldest son is vigilant in his campaign to have me not end the books at 10. I'm trying to figure out how to do this. The thing is, the more I think about how I could do it, the more I'm falling in love with the idea of what comes "after".

I won't spoil it for you, heck, I might not even write it. But if I do, if I wrap up "The World Keepers" and keep going with a different series in the same setting, I'll be very excited to share it! It's a hard decision to make, and I think the series would take off in a direction for kids that are older, maybe 11-14 instead of 9-12, so that's something else to consider before I do anything. After all, my reader is growing up, so it's only natural that I'd want to keep the books going in a way that keeps him interested.

Anyhow, that's where Book 9, and my head, currently reside!

Did you really think even for a single moment that it's possible to meet someone who will love you as much as you love her? I don't know but even when I was younger, I really never believed in love. Well maybe I love my dogs and cats. When I gave birth to a real son, that's when all this love became real in it's purest form. I am only doubtful with romantic love. I know we are not supposed to be overly dependent on feelings but is it wrong to crave even just a little of it?
